FastDraft Updates & New UI: How to Order 2D & 3D CAD Drafting in PixElement
Watch the FastDraft Tutorial
Walkthrough of the updated UI, boundary editing, and drafting workflow
With the latest FastDraft updates and refreshed UI, PixElement provides an even simpler way to request professional 2D and 3D CAD drafting directly from your project. Designed to accelerate your drafting workflow, the updated interface introduces refined boundary controls, streamlined file attachments, and seamless in-project layer comparisons. You can now outline your exact project limits, choose between 2D or 3D drafting, and review finished CAD linework alongside your original orthomosaic and elevation data, all within the PixElement Canvas.
Step 1: Draw and Refine Boundaries
Start by drawing a boundary around the area you want drafted. With the updated interface, you can refine your selection by dragging individual vertices to precisely define the area included in your work order.
Step 2: Choose 2D or 3D CAD Drafting
Upon your boundary being drawn, the total area will be displayed in the new Boundaries box. You can draw multiple areas, as well as individually delete each area.
Next, select whether you would like 2D or 3D CAD drafting. 2D drafting uses your project’s orthomosaic imagery to create CAD linework, while 3D drafting uses the 3D point cloud to generate linework with elevation information.
Step 3: Add Instructions and Attachments
Give your project a name, then add any project-specific instructions and upload supporting attachments, such as existing DXF or DWG files, spreadsheets, or other reference materials, to provide additional context for the drafter.
Step 4: Review and Download CAD Deliverables
Once your order is complete, the finished CAD linework can be viewed directly within your project alongside the original data.
Toggle the CAD and Surface layers to compare the completed linework with your project data, and switch between 2D and 3D views to review the results from different perspectives. From there, download the completed CAD file for use in your existing workflow.
